Scientists get heart data from Gorillas
CNN recently interviewed GAHP collaborator, Dr. Suzan Murray, and keeper, Amanda Bania, about the National Zoo’s groundbreaking efforts to monitor heart disease in their gorillas. Dr. Murray and GAHP cardiac advisor, Ilana Kutinsky, are relying on data from a Medtronics Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR) to monitor the cardiac health of two of the zoos blackback gorillas, Kwame and Kojo.
